The Purple Circle began as a specific ride -- an attraction of sorts, at a carnival in my head. The color purple, often associated with spiritual attunement, healing, intuition, and mysticism, became a close friend and a tour guide. It allowed me to tap into what was going on not only in my head but above it.
The circular motion provided me with an ability to access these songs that were seemingly already being spun. The notion of traveling circularly, established within me a faith that if I had not picked up on a melody, a rhythm, a conceptual idea, or a lyric the first time around, I'd be back again. I'd return full circle, full purple.
The Purple Circle started as a personal and artistic sacred space. It continues to maintain that quality, but has evolved into something much bigger -- something that expands to include the energy and experience of the audience. Whether you come to a show, listen to a recording, or visit the website, you automatically ride the ride. You've entered the Purple Circle.
